Cancer walk in Newark Nj                October 18th,2009

When i was led to my tent at the Newark "Make Strides Against Cancer Walk-a-thon i thought " who's going to want their face painted on a day like this?" and not having a sign to say i was there, i worried no one would venture forth. Then one of the walkers who was seaking shelter from the rain under my tent said to me.." don't worry, once they see the first face you will get a line..."  how true, how true. I was glad to paint a little sunshine on this rainy day and I was so proud to be part of something so wonderful!

End of Summer Festival         Elwood Park , Newark,NJ        September 13th,2009

I worked this festival last year and was welcomed back by the children, who recognized me, even in costume.  They had seen the red tent at the Music and Art festival so they knew it had to be me and came running.Children whom i had painted last year came back this year with their siblings. The first time my book was full of designs i "might be able to do" this year it was work i have done and i brought a board of designs that the children love to look at while they wait. I decided that this year would not be like last year where i stayed till it was too dark to paint and needed artificial lighting from cell phones to finish. Sure...! This is my neighborhood and my people and i belong to them! The highlight of the evening was getting a hug from Deputy Mayor Margarita Muniz  and a hug and two kisses from no less than.....Mayor Cory Booker himself!!!!  Then i received my greatest compliment from a four year old who waited two hours to get painted and when i asked what she wanted she said she wanted me to paint her face as......me!!!!  My most popular design? Ray Mysterio! Most unexpected and creative? The king of Pop! enjoy the pics...

Arian, Haley and Daisy's party           Newark,NJ                  September 6th,2009

I'm always so greatful to the friends that i make thanks to the face painting. I knew Eileen as my friendly Staples Associate. But one day i come in to make some flyers and she says, "my brother told me all about you!" He had been at a party that had come about from another one i had done the week before. So when Eileen needed entertainment for her son and her neices' party she and brother Angel had no trouble deciding who. I have to say i had the best time. Not only because of the food , the music and the children . I absolutely loved the way that the grown ups found their inner child. Well, why don't i let the pictures tell the tale.

So when she needed someone for her god daughter Heaven's birthday she remembered me. Heaven helped me make balloons for her guests and since she loves dogs (the theme of the party) she had me paint her as her favorite animal.

Sean's 2nd Birthday                        Queens Farm Museum                    June 14th,2009

I love when someone close to me refers me to one of their friends, Such was the case with Sean's mom. My sister who had never seen me in action referred me and ended up being my assistant photographer while my niece Arelis got hoodwinked into assisting me with the clowning . I was greeted warmly by everyone and was invited on a hay ride. Boy was that a thrill! Later we made balloons and played games. Everyone had fun and many won. And of course there was face painting for all. My big sister was very proud of her little clown sis!

There was plenty to keep the children busy: A bouncer, a petting zoo, pony rides, crafts and of course face painting by , "you know who"! I hope the children had as much fun as i did!
